Therefore, we are providing this Privacy Policy explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information, including your Personally Identifiable Information, is collected and used.

What is considered personal information?

Within this policy, 'Personal Information' means the same as it does within the Privacy Act 1993. In general terms, this includes any information that can be used to personally identify you. This may include (but is not limited to) your name, age, gender, address, contact details (including phone numbers and email addresses) and possibly financial information, including your payment information. If the information we collect personally identifies you, or you are reasonably identifiable from it, then the information is considered personal information.

The primary purpose for which we collect information about you is to enable us to perform our business activities, and to provide the best possible quality of customer service. Any information that we collect will not be used in ways that you have not consented to. Your personal information will not be shared, sold, rented or disclosed other than as described within this Privacy Policy, or as permitted by the Privacy Act.

If you do not agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy, you may not access or use this Website.

What Type of Information Does Pilgrim Collect?

We collect two types of information from visitors to the Website, “Automatic Anonymous Information,” or “AAI,” (which does not, in and of itself, identify you personally) and “Personally Identifiable Information,” or “PII,” which is individually identifiable information or opinion (whether true or not) about you that could reasonably permit one to identify or contact you.

At various places on the Website, we may request certain PII, such as your name, phone number, email, billing address, shipping address and other PII. You may choose to provide PII in order to access or use certain features or services of the Website, such as making a purchase, registering on the Website, entering a contest or sweepstakes, filling out a survey, or providing Feedback. Where possible, we indicate which fields of information are required and which fields are optional. You can always choose not to provide information, but you may not be able to use a particular service or feature on the Website.

The information we receive from your web browser does not, in and of itself, identify you personally. However, we may combine it with other information in an attempt to identify you or we may combine it with information that does identify you. For example, Pilgrim may combine your IP address, geo location, search queries, etc with the information collected at check-out in order to identify you for various customer service and marketing activities.

Information Collected Using “Cookies” and Other Web Technologies. Most websites use “cookies” and/or similar technologies to place information about a user’s visit to that website in a small data text file that is stored on the user’s computer. Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you may be able to configure your browser to prevent the use of cookies. Pilgrim may use cookies to make our services available or easier for you to use. For instance, we may use cookies to store preferences or to store items in your shopping cart between visits. We may also store PII or AAI in cookies to improve our services and facilitate your use of the Website, or to enable Pilgrim or our third-party advertising partners to display targeted advertisements which we think would be of interest to you. Acceptance of cookies is not a requirement to browse our Website, however certain features and services may require the use of cookies to work properly, including our shopping cart and check out features.

In addition to cookies, we may also use “web beacons” and other web technologies to manage our Website and email. A web beacon is a small bit of computer code. Web beacons may be used to count how many people visit a web page or tell us whether an email has been opened. We may link the information we collect using web beacons and other web technologies to information that identifies you personally.

In addition to the cookies we deliver to your computer through our Website, certain third parties may deliver cookies to you for a variety of reasons. For example, we are a Google Trusted Store and third parties may be placing and reading cookies on your browser, or using web beacons or similar technologies to collect information in connection with the Google Trusted Stores program. Due to the nature of our business being online retail we have a number of security checks in place to protect our website and our customers from such things as credit card theft. Our order system will automatically put orders on hold if it includes such things as high valued items or if a transaction has failed. To release your order you may be asked for Identification and proof of address so your order can be approved. Once checked and approved any proof of identity information collected in relation to your order will be deleted and you will be contacted by email to confirm that this has been done. Due to these checks your delivery may also be delayed.

For example, when collecting credit card information for online purchases, we offer secured-service transactions that encrypt your information in transit to thwart others from intercepting or misusing it. Unfortunately, no website, server, or database is completely secure or “hacker proof.” We therefore cannot guarantee that your PII will not be disclosed, misused or lost by accident or by the unauthorized acts of others.
